Is There Any Products That You Can Buy To Whiten A Childs Teeth?

November 22nd, 2009

My 6 year old had his 2 bottom baby teeth knocked out at school by a bully and now the perm ones came in and their yellow. His dentist said nothing can be done until he is older maybe get veneers. I feel sorry for him b/c he is embarassed and kids make fun of his teeth at school. I want something done but no dentist will do anything. Are there any products that I can use to whiten his teeth?

As your sons friends will find out, their adult teeth will be yellow compared to the baby teeth as well. This is normal.
Your dentist is correct in not wanting to do anything to whiten your sons teeth. The pulp chamber is to large and he will have severe sensitivity to any type of whiteners.
I’m sorry that your son is being bullied and teased about his teeth but unfortunately, not much can be done at this young age.

No! You’re going to have to wait. Those products are not tested on children and could be dangerous. They can cause gum irritations and children are likely to swallow the peroxide/active ingredients in them. He’s just going to have to tough it out.

something simple would be to rub the inside of a very ripe banana peel on the teeth in a circular motion for 2-3 minutes every day. you do it after brushing.
