Crest Whitening Strips? Or Another Effective Way To Whiten Teeth?

November 5th, 2009

Hi! I’m a young teen and I would like to know if Crest Whitening Strips would be effective. I have heard that they eat the enamel of your teeth. Is this true? If there is a better way to whiten my teeth? I’m asking this because I just got my braces off and I have a couple spots on my teeth where it is whiter. So…should I use whitening strips and are they safe for a person of my age?

    HI,
I have always had problems with faint yellow teeth. In fact everyone in my family has this problem. I have tried every product that exists along with frequent visits to dentists. Dentists have always told me that my teeth are good but I was never happy with the color. Using peroxide or baking soda is harmful for teeth in a longer run so I never used it. Trays are always a NO for me because they give lot of irritation and pain.
The ONLY thing that has worked for me till date is Dazzle White. I was not sure of using it at the beginning as I did not want to waste more money. Later, after doing some research on the Internet I found out about this company giving free samples. I immediately ordered mine (just paid $1.95 shipping). This is a real good product and has worked for me. I don’t work for this company nor am I related to them in any manner. Just trying to help someone who has faced similar problems like me.
    Thanx
BTW the website from where I got my free samples is http://tinyurl.com/freewhiteteeth

The first time I used Crest whitestrips, my teeth were a little sensitive the first day, but it faded fast. Now they aren’t sensitive at all and they look so much better. If you use them in excess, it will start to damage your enamel, but if you use them as directed your teeth will be fine and you’ll have a whiter brighter smile!

whitennig strips and bleaching isn’t safe for anyone at any age. It creates microscopic holes in your enamel (which is NOT reversable). If you want to get rid of the spots I would go to a hygienist/dentist bleach them one time and then monitor my diet.
coffee, soda, and tea stain!! drink with a straw.
also after bleaching your teeth may be very sensitive.

    *HYDROGEN PEROXIDE+BAKING SODA WHITENING*
Having less-than-brilliant teeth doesn’t have to mean a trip to the dentist or a whitening kit. Try this all-natural remedy instead.
    You Will Need –
    Baking soda
    Hydrogen peroxide
    Bowl
    Toothbrush
    Plastic wrap
    Mint flavoring
    Cranberry juice
WARNING! – Do not whiten teeth if you have cavities, open sores, gingivitis, or other gum disease.
    Step 1:
In a small bowl, mix 2 teaspoons each of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Stir until it is the consistency of regular toothpaste. You may need to add a bit more peroxide.
TIP – Add a drop or two of sugar-free mint flavoring. To get rid of the Hydrogen Peroxide flavoring.
    Step 2:
Apply the whitener to a toothbrush and use as if it was regular toothpaste. Leave the whitener on your teeth for at least two minutes.
    Step 3:
Rinse thoroughly. Do not swallow the whitener solution.
TIP – Try rinsing with cranberry juice to get rid of the whitener’s taste; it also kills bacteria.
    Step 4:
Cover the bowl with the plastic wrap and set the extra whitener aside for another use.
    Step 5:
Brush with the peroxide paste no more than once a week. Hydrogen peroxide can cause tissue damage if used too often.
DID YOU KNOW? – Tooth enamel is the hardest tissue in the human body.
    *STRAWBERRY WHITENING*
Strawberries contain malic acid, which is great for removing stains on your teeth.
    You Will Need –
    1 ripe strawberry
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    A soft toothbrush
    Dental floss
    Mouthwash
    Hydrogen peroxide
    Step 1:
Mash the strawberry with a fork and mix it with the baking soda. The baking soda buffs away stains from coffee, tea, and blueberries that penetrate your enamel over time.
    Step 2:
Using a soft toothbrush, apply the mixture to the teeth you want to whiten.
    Step 3:
Let the mixture set for five minutes.
    Step 4:
Brush your teeth with toothpaste as usual. Floss to get out any seeds from the strawberry.
TIP – Rinsing with a little hydrogen peroxide mixed with water after brushing kills bacteria and whitens teeth.
    Step 5:
Rinse your mouth with mouthwash to wash away residual acid. Your teeth will be gleaming and stain-free.
DID YOU KNOW – In the Middle Ages barbers also practiced dentistry.
